I'm trying to download Windows Media Player 9 for my Mac. I know it's lame. I don't really want it, but need it to run a Windows-based application. I'm using Wine to open the Photostory 2 (windows) application, but it won't let me finish installing it without first installing WMP 9. Here's the catch(es): 1) I tried to install the Windows version of WMP 10 (during a failed attempt to install Photostory 3), so I can't install the Windows 9 version because it recognizes its inferiority and refuses to install.
Does anyone perhaps know how to track down the WMP 10 file to delete? I can't seem to find it anywhere.
2) When I try to install the Mac version of WMP 9, I can get as far as expanding the.bin file (.bin because it's rubbish and belongs in the bin?), but when I try to open the Windows Media Installer, it refuses to open. Does anyone know how I can fix it? I hope someone has an answer for me.
